4D3N in Taipei!

1
2

Long overdue post but I thought I would share about my 4D3N adventure in Taipei last year before I head to Taiwan again in 3 days time!! Whoooop seriously looking forward to my upcoming trip! :D

This was my 2nd trip to Taipei ever since my first trip which was 7 years ago! LOL. No idea why I didn't head back to Taipei for so many years! This time round, I chose to stay at "Airline Inn" which is located in Ximending!
3a
As you can probably tell from the name of the hotel... the decoration of the hotel is very airline-inspired! The corridors of the hotel looks like you're on board the aircraft with aeroplane-like-windows! It was pretty interesting!
Although the building in which the hotel is located is pretty old & run-down, the room itself was spacious, location was good and reasonably priced! :)

DAY 1
After checking in at the hotel, H and I took the train to meet my taiwan girlies at 五分埔 (Wu Fen Pu) for some shopping!
7

Meet QuanQuan, Jenny and JiangJiang!
8
I met them on ITSTHESHIP2015 and they were my best take away from ITS2015! Really glad that we still remained in contact even till today! And they are the reason why I decided to visit Taipei again! These sweet girls even took the trouble to apply leave just so that they can accompany me out when I visit them! :)

五分埔 (Wu Fen Pu) is a wholesale shopping 'market' so expect lots of apparels, shoes and bags!! It's more for the ladies though ;) Even those it is wholesale, I didn't really find that the stuff are super duper cheap~ Just remember to always bargain to get the best price possible la :D

Once we were done with shopping, it was dinner time!
I was craving for steamboat so Jenny made a reservation for us at 無老鍋 (Wu Lao Guo)! No better way to have hotpot than eating it when the weather is cold!
13
That's like a fish paste kinda thing! SUPER GOOD OMO
I was told that Beauty in the Pot in Singapore was actually inspired by Wu Lao Guo - both uses collagen soup! And I must say that Wu Lao Guo is so much better and also alot more cheaper!! Hehe. Definitely coming back here the next time I visit Taiwan!
14

Then it was time to go party!! Kinda forgot which club we went to, but it probably wasn't fantastic enough for me to remember But wellz, look at the crazy long queue! Lol
15

After partying, it was SUPPER TIME! We went to 永和豆漿 (Yong He Dou Jiang) which sells some really amazing dou hua, you tiao and even xiao long bao!

17
Highly recommend it! Such a satisfying supper hehe

DAY 2
18a 18b
) 西門町(Xi Men Ding). This is the view I would see once I step out of my hotel!

Also, what better way to start off my day than to have a cup of Bubble Tea! I mean.... what is Taiwan without bubble tea right?!
19
Out of all the bubble tea that I tried in Taipei, this is my 2nd most favourite called 天仁茗茶 (TenRen's Tea) although most of my taiwan friends told me this was the best! Anyway, I love the Milk Green Tea the most! Super fragrant!!

On Day 2, we decided to visit 淡水 (Tamsui/Danshui)! It was quite a journey away... probably one hour by train?
19a 19b
PS: Can't wait to meet them in a few days time!! *squeals*

20

Gonna side track a little....
BUT!!
OKAY GUYZ
PRESENTING TO YOU....
MY FAVOURITE BUBBLE TEA STORE IN TAIPEI

50嵐 (50 Lan)!!

21
I have it almost twice daily during my 4D3N stay in Taipei. Lol. Milk tea overdose~
Do try it if you're in taipei and let me know what you think!!

It was super gloomy when we arrived in 淡水 (Tamsui/Danshui). In fact, it was very gloomy and raining almost every single day when I was there. Tough luck uh. Note to self: never visit Taipei in March cuz it's such a rainy season!
22
23

The best part about Tamsui is the STREET FOOD!!!! Just visit Tamsui with an empty stomach!
Trust me, you'll be exploding by the time you have finished walking the whole stretch!
24
25
OMO NOMZ. Those beef cubes....
One of the speciality dish that you should try when you're in Tamsui is the Tamsui Fishballs! Not quite sure which stall I visited cuz I followed my friends blindly, but I supposed they are most probably all about the same? It was really good though so please remember to check it out!
27
26

After Tamsui, it was time to visit 士林夜市 (Shilin Night Market)!! Probably my most favourite activity to do in Taiwan is to visit their different night markets! Lots of food and shops and it's just so interesting - something you don't get in Singapore apart from our usual 'Pasar Malam'~
28
If I am not wrong, 士林夜市) (Shilin Night Market) is one of the biggest night market in Taipei?
JUST. LOOK. AT. THAT. CROWD!!!
Thankfully the weather was cold so it wasn't all sticky and sweaty!! Phewww
29
30

You can't leave Shilin Night Market without trying the legendary Hot Star Chicken!
Super huge, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! Love it!!
31
32

Honestly, there are just SO MUCH FOOD in Shilin Night Market, but its a pity I didn't eat alot cuz I was still super full from the street food in Tamsui. Ohwellzzzz~ Always a next time!
33

It was a Saturday night and of cuz that means... PARTYING!! Hahahaha this is what happens when you put us girls together. Lol
34

With my party babes! We visited OMNI that night and it was lit!!
If you're looking for a club to party in Taipei, you can check this club out! ;)
35

After partying.... it was probably 3++am and the girls brought me out for supper again. LOL.
Never a moment that you'll be hungry when you're in Taipei!
This time round, the girls brought me to have some Taiwan beef noodles. Not quite sure which shop this was cuz we were honestly all half dead. LOL. But omo I remembered quite vividly that the food was pretty good, or maybe cuz I was drunk hmmm
36
37
Maybe you can google for beef noodles store near Club OMNI

DAY 3
Woke up extremely late today cuz we were all sooooooooooo worn out and tired!
Wanted to visit 九份 (Jiu Fen) on this day but because we woke up too late, we ended up exploring areas around 忠孝敦化 (Zhongxiao Dunhua) instead, which according to Jenny, is an area full of local boutiques, cafes, small lil stores which are mostly for the locals!
38
Jenny and I decided to be twins today cuz we happened to buy the same sweater in Wu Fen Pu!
It's actually a sweater meant for males but we decided to get it and wear it as an oversized sweater!

39
40

After walking around in 忠孝敦化 (Zhongxiao Dunhua), we went to have dinner at Shaoba Yakiniku House cuz I was somehow craving for bbq meat and we managed to find one just around the corner!
42

If you're a meat eater just like me, this is the place for you! I think it's about $30/pax for the buffet which was super worth it cuz we ate SO MUCH! Lol
43
You can BBQ your meat or you can also do it the shabu shabu way! Not bad huh!
44

Best part?
YOU GET TO BBQ YOUR VERY OWN MOCHI.
LOVE. IT!!!!!! I can't imagine life without mochis. I just, can't....
45
41
46
How we pose properly for a picture VS how we actually are in real life LOLLLL
47
Such a fun bunch to be with!!
Sadly, it was time for them to take the train to head back to Taichung after accompanying me for 3 days in Taipei! T_T
THANK YOU GIRLS!!!!!

After sending them off, H and I decided to visit another night market before calling it a day!
We went to 師大夜市 (Shida Night Market)!
48

And this is also the place where I bagged home with almost 6 shoes I think?
There was this particular shop that sells ALL SHOES for only $10 each!! EVEN BOOTS OKAY!! I literally just whackkkkkkk and bought so many shoes back hahahaha best buy of this trip!
50

Came across these really cute doggies too and they were so obedient to pose for a picture with me! Awwww
49

DAY 4
Last day in Taipei! Time flies huh! Not much in our itinerary today so we decided to just explore the area around Ximending and to get some photos taken! :D
51a 51b
52

We had 阿宗麵線(Ay-Chung Mian Xian) for lunch!
When I told my friends that I was going to visit Taipei, everyone kept telling me to try this mian xian! And so coincidentally, the store is located RIGHT BELOW MY HOTEL!! LOL is this fate or what hehe
53
54
I am usually not a big fan of meesua but this was surprisingly good! Not bad at all!
55
Slurping my meesua and check out my beautiful lashes from Milly's!!
You can quote my name for discounts off eyelash extensions at any outlet of Millys!

56
Also!! Both H and I had this green tea swirl ice cream a total of 3 times I think? It is located right beside the Ay-Chung Mee Sua!
SOOO GOOOOD!!!!

57
58

We spent the day walking around the WHOLE of Ximending (not just the touristy areas) and it was alot of fun! We also went to so many different 7-Eleven just to hunt for these Yakult sweets cuz it was OOS at so many places!! LOL
59
Regretted not buying more back cuz its super addictive.... Omo I gonna buy so many more back in this upcoming trip!

Just before heading to airport, we had our last meal in Taipei! Was telling H that I was craving for braised pork rice! So we googled and found out about this place which was quite near Ximending!
It's called 金峰魯肉飯 (Jin Feng Ru Rou Fan)!
60
61
The menu~

62
An affordable and yummy meal! Highly recommend it :D
Really so so so good and the braised pork was so fragrant!!

63

So yupppp! That's all for my 4D3N in Taipei!
In 3 days time, I'll be heading to Taiwan for 9 days!! WHOOP!! Of cuz, not all days will be spent in Taipei itself. I'll be visiting Taichung for 3 days too to find my taipei girlies and also to explore Taichung cuz I haven't been there before! Really looking forward!!

Till the next time, safe travels everyone!!
