PASARBELLA - A Farmers' Market

8.8.2013 was Jj and I 14th Monthsary so we wanted to head to somewhere special to spend time together! Decided on PasarBella Market cuz I've heard alot about it and haven't been there before!

Dajie, Jack, BabyDylan and my parents came along as well in the end since all of us wanted to visit Pasarbella!

I was really excited about Pasarbella Market cuz I heard it is quite similar to those angmoh market overseas.. And I was really hoping it would be something like Borough Market which I visited in London!!  In the end, it didn't quite remind me of Borough Market or any other markets I've been to.. It was abt a 50% similarity la!
That said, PASARBELLA MARKET IS STILL AWESOME IN ITS OWN WAYS and it's very pretty too!! At least doing shopping over here beats shopping in Giant/NTUC anytime and the products here are unique albeit EXPENSIVE. We saw this melon selling for $50?!?! Quite insane hor


The first thing that greeted us when we entered were... MACARONS!!!!

So pretty and colourful!! Didn't try them but I heard from my cousin that they are pretty good!! Regretting it so much now :'(

Paris corner! We reached here to realise that the Paella WAS ALL SOLD OUT. And they will only have another serving at 6pm... (*checks time it was only 4pm then..*) Dajie and I were both so upset...
BUT.....


TURNS OUT JACK WAS THE ONE WHO BOUGHT THE LAST SERVING OF PAELLA. WHOOHOOOO~

Luckily Jack rushed straight to the Paella station while the rest of us were still walking & looking around..
Eating this Paella reminds me so much of times in Paris!! Pasarbella Market indeed made me reminisced a lot!


Seafood section which kinda reminds me of Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo...










The lobsters & crabs were still alive!! Crawling around on the ice... awww such a torture I wonder if they felt cold??

Lotsa sitting area in Pasarbella Market! I would recommend visiting this place during the weekdays when it'll be less crowded! I had abit of claustrophobic feeling when I was there cuz we visited it on Hari Raya which is a Public Holiday & there were just sooo many people all around!! Hate squeezing ahhhh~

Melting-something I cannot remember.. BUT THIS IS GOOOOOOOOOOD. It really melts in your mouth!! Love it! :D




Jj and I then headed just outside PasarBella Market to try this OMAKASE BURGER..
Omakase is a Japanese phrase that means "I'll leave it to you" Usually people would say Omakase to Sushi chefs so the chefs would decide the best 10 sushis for you and it varies depending on the catch of the day! So we thought it's really interesting to have Omakase burgers!


The cashier girl recommended us this Home-made Lemonade and it was SOOO SOUR. It was refreshing.. but too sour for my liking!

And my thoughts?? Honestly abit disappointed leh, especially when the burgers are not cheap. Like average about $14 for one?? And the serving is kinda small as well~ The Omakase Cheeseburger ($13.90) reminds me of  the normal Macs cheeseburger ($2)... it was just slightly juicier and tastier.


Truffle Fries  This however, was pretty good & decent!! I still really like the ones from Coastal Settlement the best for now :p

6pm came and we got ourselves another packet of Paella! Yummy!! I think first timers would find Paella taste rather weird.. which did happen to me as well. But I'm loving it more and more now!
