Movie Review - The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Few days back, I was invited to the Gala Premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire by Cineleisure Orchard! 
I was super duper excited cuz The Hunger Games is no doubt one of the best movie I've watched so far.. it's thrilling, nerve wracking and a love story is also entwined in it. For those who haven't watched The Hunger Games trilogy, please go watch it now before watching Catching Fire in the cinemas!

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire depicts the aftermath of Katniss and Peeta after the both of them have emerged as victors from District 12. They embarked on their 'Victors Tour' at all 12 districts and along the way, Katniss sensed that a rebellion is simmering. 
President Snow wasn't really happy about it and wanted to remove Katniss. During the 75th Annual Hunger Games, the special 'Quarter Quell', President Snow decided to gather all Tributes from each district's surviving victors. Since Katniss was the only female winner from her district 12, she was naturally chosen and had to killfight to survive again.


Btw, I really dig this wedding gown designed for Katniss please!!! It's just super gorgeous.  And when Katniss spun her gown, it engulfed into sparks of fire and it became a Mockingjay dress! Which of course, annoyed the hell out of President Snow and the designer of this gown was tortured/killed.

There's alot of twists in this story. Yknow like people I thought were bad/evil turned out to be the good ones.  There was also less fighting/killing in Catching Fire cuz most of the Tributes were sacrificing themselves in order to let Katniss survive. *SO SWEET*!!!!


Also, in the arena, Peeta actually 'died'?!?! (oh no did I reveal too much? hehe) But Finnick did CPR and revived Peeta *phew*. Well, I knew Peeta wasn't gonna die. I mean.. c'mon he's the main lead actor. Why would he die halfway into the show, right!??!  So I was trying to find pictures online of Finnick providing CPR for Peeta, didn't manage to find it but came across these..

LOL which was quite funny I think?? Hhahaha



I have not read a single book of The Hunger Games so I had zero expectations of how Catching Fire was gonna be like... but now I can safely say that it was definitely a very good show and it is one of the best movie in 2013!!  Albeit it was a lil draggy for the first half, and running time was 2hr 30mins, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is not a movie you would want to miss out on! Personal rating: 8.5/10
Watch it at CATHAY CINEPLEX before it's gone! It's gonna worth every cent of your movie ticket, this I swear ;)
