TOM YUM KUNG FU MOOKATA!

I had an INTENSE craving for meat last week.. but at the same time, I was really sick of the usual Korean bbq kinda food and so, I decided to go for Mookata which is a Traditional Thai BBQ! I tried Happy Mookata once and it was quite good and affordable ($20 buffet!).. since I am always on a hunt to try new things, I googled for more Mookata places and it brought me to... TOM YUM KUNG FU!

It was packed when we reached despite it being 9pm already. Lucky us, we had a seat even without prior reservation.  Reservations are highly recommended if you're planning to come, especially over the weekends!


The restaurant kinda has a very retro + rustic + messy feel?? Very bangkok-ish feel especially with all the siam-tiu songs playing in the shop!

We ordered the set meal which is meant for 2-3 people. There's the $38 version and the $45 one with the latter having more prawns and maggi! We had the $45 set!

Food inside the bowl are meant for the steamboat..


While food on the tray are for Bbq-ing!
Anyway.. I think this set would be best for 2pax and not 3pax!! Unless all 3 of you are really small eaters then perhaps it would be enough~ I would recommend you getting the 3-4pax set if you guys are big eaters!


Start off by putting those Pork Lard at the centre of the pan! When it starts to sizzle and you can see oil sipping down, that's the right time to start bbq-ing!! YUMMZ


I love the meat so much!! It was much much better marinated than Happy Mookata in my opinion and the soup was much tasteful as well! I also love the chilli sauce that went really well with the meat! Super yums!!!


Pork Belly and Pork/Chicken slices??  Lol I don't even know what I was eating... just know that it was yummy!






Because of my intense craving for meat ( I am a carnivore like that!!), I ordered an additional plate of this! This plate costs $6?? I WANT SOME NOWWW!!!


We then added the tomyum seasoning from the Maggi to the soup and it tasted EVEN BETTER! Although I know it's just MSG from the seasoning but I just can't stop slurping the soup. Hehe

And major love for the big juicy prawns too!!! After it's cooked, the shell of the prawn kinda auto de-shells itself??  Don't have to worry about peeling those prawns and dirtying your hands! :D




This is by far the best Mookata place I've ever been to and I am already sooooo looking forward to my next visit! ^^ If you don't mind smelling like a BBQ yourself, do give this place a shot!
